Bicycle "Parking"

Hey.  Did anyone ride their bikes last year?  I am wanting to know where you parked and what your experience was like.  I noticed alot of bikes when we got there and they seemed to be chained up all crazy.  Bikes pilled on top of bikes chained to signs, hand rails, whatever.

I don't mind chaining up to whatever is available, my concern is someone tossing their bike on top of mine and chaining it up.  What happens when I'm ready to leave? I run the risk of having my bike damaged right?

Thanks for any feedback you can provide.

I wish someone would reply I am very curious myself! Really worried about biking there with no where to chain up, and even more worried someone will steal my bike

Friend and I chained up our 2 bikes across the street from the main entrance.  Was no problem coming and going for the three days we were there.  Plan to "bike it" again this year.

Wanted to add…

The location I mentioned had a sizeable amount of bike racks.  Was in the parking lot of the souviner shop (name of the place escapes me)

Oh yeah.  I remember seeing that.  Hopefully we can get there early enough to be able to use it.  All the other spots looked like a hot mess with bikes pilled up everywhere.

Guestle Fest, I saw tons of spots to chain up.  I wasn't as worried about finding a spot to chain up as I am about coming back to someone else chaining their bike over or to the outside of mine on the same pole and not being able to get mine free of the pile without damaging my bike. :)

Thanks for the responses.  Maybe we'll here some more before Fest.

Cool thanks. I'm worried about someone chaining to me as well. Their chain will be cut.

If someone chains directly to my bike, they may be without a bike on their way home…..I don't plan on taking bolt cutters with me.

Is there a place around to rent bikes?

This year will be my first time to the festival, so I can't verify this; however, there looks to be a bike rental place on Perdido Beach Blvd, on the east side of the park, about 3.5 miles from the venue:

Anyone have experience with them?
