Hangout 1 was very light on security. Hangout 2 was totally different every day. One day I didnt even get my wristband looked at. One day I got a pat down. And another I had to remove everything from my pockets and then get patted down. That was the last day of the fest and there were also dogs at the gate. I think after all the arrests in the beginning of the weekend they stepped up security for the final day. I would expect everyday to be like the last day this year.

Yep. Sunday, they made my GF empty her bag and then a lady patted me down as well. Strangely, she only touched the "front" side…hmmmm..

put all of your goodies in a ziplock back and tape it to the inside of your leg. the ultimate festy trick. beats a pat down every time.

It's not that bad. I think their primary concern is our safety and making sure that no one is bringing weapons into the festival (which I am totally for). Their secondary concern is more business related in trying to deter you from bringing in your own alcohol as I'm sure this is a big profit center. If they tried to arrest everyone who either has or smells like grass I think there would be about 12 people left to enjoy the festival. Be smart and RELAX.

Well those who just gave me a straight answer i appricate it.
First this isn't my first festival, concert,….rodeo
I was simply just tryin to get a feel of how they where at the gate. Seeeeeinngg how every show, festival, what have you is total different.
Donk, i wasnt lookin for ways to smuggle anything in dude. Besides i serious doubt the Admin for the hangout site have a "Bad" list of guest names/emails that they are tracking and are gonna be watching for us at the gate……Who is not using there noodle………

…I'm going to let go your improper use of the word "there" and just say that donk is right, why give them insight into how one would avoid being patted down? They absolutely monitor these boards, why would they not?

Honestly, the only thing we had wrong was some spray-on sunblock. I didn't realize we could only bring in the rub on kind – (which is more fun anyway).  Of course, they took it an threw it in a barrel with a thousand others. Live and learn…

Good one getting me on my english, ohhh that one hurt. Lol anway again by posting what I did I was not at any point looking on how to smuggl things into the festival. I really have no idea how some of you got that impression. I was simplimg asking if they padded down last year…..Im very sorry for the confusion.

This question gets asked on every msg board for every fest, every year.
And the answer is always the same.
They know people put crack in their asses… but why put it here where people from the community of Gulf Shores could read it, complain, etc? There is a managed relationship between the promoter, residents, security, police, attendees… it is carefully balanced, don;t negatively impact that balance.
SECURITY IS BRUTAL, THERE ARE NO DRUGS, NO UNDERAGE DRINKING AND THIS IS A FAMILY FESTIVAL.

haha. so much hostility on a festival message board. bring what you bring. no one judges (unless you're walking around saying, "needles for five dollars," like they do at bonnaroo). i'm sure some days they'll do a brief pat down, some days that might not. but that will consist of a pat over your pockets and that is probably it. and yeah they probably do monitor these boards, but they know what we're doing and they really don't care. they just want to bust the people selling mass amounts of drugs and confiscate your booze so they can sell their $5+ beer.
