It's never too early to start thinking about next year's lineup. Who would you like to see play Hangout 2013?

I will second The Black Keys. They were fantastic @ Hangout 2011!
Adding to that: Kid Cudi, Cake, Bombay Bicycle Club, Washed Out, The National, St Vincent, Fleet Foxes, Beck, Deerhunter, bring Beats Antique back (I missed most of their set last year due to being in line for an hour.), Gorillaz, Dirty Projectors, Death Cab for Cutie, Thievery Corporation, Sufjan Stevens, Zero 7, and Santigold…
Just off the top of my head.

Cool with Jack, but Dave can stay home IMO. Amazing talent, but just wasn't impressed with the set. I think most everyone agrees that the Black Keys should come back, but please put 'em on the main stage….

Glenn, seriously not trying to start something but I am really curious. What kind of set would you like to have seen? What was so wrong with the set that you wouldn't invite them back?

Nothing wrong with an honest question… It's more a matter of my personal tastes than anything else. I would have much preferred to see Jack White for 2.5 hrs and Dave maybe 2. IMO, the Peppers should have closed out the weekend, but I really don't know (based on the crowd and the people I spoke to) which of the 2 was really the bigger name, or at least, the crowd favorite prior to their respective performance. I know I enjoyed both JW and RHCP more than Dave.
That's not intended to be a dig on DM, as I appreciate his talent and his fan loyalty. It's actually more of a compliment to the other two, and my humble preferences….
Hangout has done a great job of bringing in huge names to close out the two I've attended. I guess my hope would be that they rotate a few more big names in for next year and give us a chance to see a large variety of quality closers for years to come. Bring Dave back in a few years.
Kate and Sarah….thanks for the props, but the beauty of this fest for me is that I can just chill and relax.

Good answer Glen. I try not to even weigh into these conversations because I am quite the DMB fan, bias for sure. I was pretty pleased with the set, more or less exactly what I was expecting. I highly doubt they would be coming back next year anyway, they tend to kinda rotate the fests.
JW did put on an unbelievable show. I'm converted, I wasn't expecting that level of talent to be honest.

Thanks. I was also seriously impressed with the acoustic set of Chris Cornell. I expected JW to put on a show, but didn't know how well CC would sound without a band. I've always been a big fan of his bands, but I gained a new respect for how effortless he made it all seem solo.

Personally, I would have preferred to see Dave and RHCP switched, because Dave was more relaxing. On Saturday night an excuse to relax a bit would have been really nice, whereas on Sunday I wanted to go crazy one last time. I can't blame HOMF though, because looking at the set prior to attending, I expected just the opposite.
