What's the alcohol situation like at Hangout? I know you can't bring it in, so I'm wondering what the prices are like there and if there's any secrets to get it in the venue

As you would expect it is not cheap, about $6-$10 (if I am remembering correctly) for a beer or frozen margarita in a pouch (think Capri Sun except bigger). The beers are larger than 12oz. Last year I quickly discovered that I was growing tired of my beers getting warm and excessive trips to wait in line for another. So I began purchasing a couple frozen margaritas at a time and carrying them in my cargo pockets. When I was ready for the next one it was not completely frozen, but still cold enough to enjoy. I never tried to smuggle alcohol into the venue. Hope this helps.

I thought we were playing word association.
"Alcohol"
"Delicious"

gnice79 is pretty spot on. The lines were long and the drink prices started to add up over a full weekend. Great idea on the multiple margarita purchases too.

16 oz beer was $6 for years one and two. I'd be shocked if it's any higher this year.

Honestly, at any concert venue, that price is about average. I've paid $10 for 24oz beers (and I think it was $12 at the Staples Center in LA for imports).
Moderation peeps, the Captain doesn't want to see any of you doing a face plant in the sand, but at least it is much more forgiving than concrete or terra firma.

The Captain recommends the 'Alternate' method of drinking…..one dose of beverage of choice (preferably the Captain), one dose of High Kwality H20…..if you want to last all day / night.
Beer dehydrate, so does booze. Alternate methods of intoxication are also less dehydrating, for those that choose.
On site that can be risky, but off site……do whatcha like!
